    ကိုးဗစ်ကာလမှာ ပြသခဲ့သော မြန်မာတို့၏ ဒါနစိတ်ဓာတ်ကို ဂုဏ်ပြုသည့် ကဗျာပါ။
    ဒါနဟာ ပစ္စည်း ပညာ လုပ်အား မျှဝေလှူဒါန်းခြင်း နှင့် အဓိကအားဖြင့် အခက်အခဲကာလတွေမှာ တဦးကိုတဦး ကူညီစောင့်ရှောက်ခြင်းတို့ဖြစ်ပါသည်။

    In honor of Dana spirit of the people of Myanmar, demonstrated in COVID19 pandemic, Hla Min(EC69), Aung Myaing(ChE72) and Myo Myint(M73), alumni of Rangoon Institute of Technology(now known as Yangon Technological University) present the following poem and attached paintings to Myanmar in particular and the whole world in general.
    Dana covers sharing and caring:
    Sharing one’s assets(wealth,
    knowledge,volunteer work..)with those in need,
    Caring about fellow citizens especially in
    times of crises.

    သာဓု သာဓု သာဓု”
    မျက်လုံး ကလယ်ကလယ်
    လူမမယ်အူဝဲ
    အသဲထဲမှာ
    စွဲကာသွားရ
    “အမျှ အမျှ အမျှ
    သာဓု သာဓု သာဓု”
    ဤအခြေခံ စိတ်ဓာတ်
    တဖျတ်ဖျတ်တောက်နေ
    အမိမြေမှာ
    ဒါနမျိုးစုံ

    ပစ္စည်းလို ပစ္စည်း။
    လုပ်အားလို လုပ်အား။
    ပညာလို ပညာ။

    “Sharing and Caring Blossoms in Myanmar”

    First words heard
    as a toddler
    embraced in a mother’s breast
    “For all our meritorious deeds
    we share our merits to all beings, saying
    Ah Hmya, Ah Hmya, Ah Hmya
    (responded in unison)
    Thadu, Thadu, Thadu
    (Well done, Well done, Well done)
    Sparkling innocent eyes
    gentle cries
    the infant
    gets the learning and lifelong impact
    of the words Ah Hmya and Thadu
    deep down in the heart.
    This fundamental spirit
    is ubiquitous and shining
    in our motherland
    manifested by
    various forms of Dana (Sharing and Caring)
    Donation of possessions
    Offering volunteer works
    Dissemination of knowledge
    The needy gets help
    from those who can afford
    Incomparable wholesome deeds
    shared physically, verbally and mentally
    to the pleasant ringing of a gong
    We joyfully proclaim
    “We share all our merits
    Ah Hmya, Ah Hmya, Ah Hmya
    (and respond in unison)
    Thardu Thadu Thadu”

    UNESCO inscribed Myanmar’s ancient capital of Bagan as a World Heritage Site on July 6, 2019.

    Saya U Moe Aung (Tekkatho Moe War) has portrayed the cultural, religious, historical and architectural heritage of Bagan.

    စာေရးသူရဲ႕ ႏွလံုးေသြးမွ စီးဆင္းလာတဲ့
    ႏွစ္သိမ့္ၾကည္ႏူးျခင္း ကဗ်ာ။

    “ပုဂံအေမြ”

    Heritage of BAGAN

    ႏွလံုးေသြးရဲ႕ တဒုတ္ဒုတ္ျမည္သံ
    ပုဂံေျမထဲ လြင့္ပ်ံသြား။

    Rapid, incessant heart beat
    racing towards the Bagan area

    ႏွလံုးသားမွာစူးနစ္
    အေမြအႏွစ္ဟာ ပုဂံ….။

    Deeply rooted in the bottom of my heart
    the cultural, religious, historical and architectural heritage of Bagan

    ကမၻာ႔ ရင္သပ္႐ႈေမာ၊ အံ႔ၾသဖြယ္ၾကည္ညိဳ
    ပုဂံကိုသြတ္သြင္း၊ စာရင္း၀င္ အေမြအႏွစ္
    လြမ္းရစ္ေတာ့ တစ္ဖန္
    ေၾသာ္…. ပုဂံရယ္….။

    Fascinating, full of wonder and memories,
    heart rendering, sublime Bagan
    finally, rightfully inscribed as World Heritage Site
    O … ancient Temple City
    where I left my heart

    ဟိုး အေ၀းထိ၊ လွမ္းေမွ်ာ္ၾကည့္တိုင္း
    ထိ႐ွ လြမ္းေမာ၊ တေ၀ါေ၀ါ စီးဆင္း
    ျမစ္မင္း ဧရာ၀တီ၊ ၀န္းလည္ ရစ္ေခြ

    Every time one looks yonder
    touched by the whirling, swirling,
    vibrant Ayeyarwaddy (Lord of the rivers)
    Misty, dreamy panoramic view
    O … my dear Ayeyarwaddy

    ပန္းပု ဗိသုကာ၊ လက္ရာေထာင္ေသာင္း
    ေစတီပုထိုးေပါင္းမ်ားစြာ

    ၾကည္ညိဳ ၀ပ္တြား၊ ေပ်ာက္ပ်က္မသြားဖို႔

  • SEAP Games

    • Burma hosted the 2nd SEAP Games in 1961
      and the 5th SEAP Games in 1969.

    Till we meet again

    • My poem was published in the Forward Magazine about five decades ago.
    • I received fifteen kyats.
    • Burma was host of SEAP Games for the second time.
    • Myint Aung won six Gold medals in Gymnastics.
    • Jimmy Crampton won Gold in 800 m and 1500 m.
    • Shimbwegan succeeded Mee Tung Naw as the Marathon Champion
    • Htay Aung (M69) represented Burma in Water Polo.
      Mya Thee was his Coach.

      Part-time Professor of Electrical Engineering, San Jose State University passed away alone at his home.
      Per request from the Professor and Head of EE Department, the Burmese Community in the San Francisco Bay Area helped with the Final Journey.
      I had the honor to push the incinerator and also to join Dr. Swe Aye and Dr. Khin Nyo Thet to scatter the ashes in the waters off Santa Cruz.
