She is a physiologist.
She was Professor of Physiology at the Institute of Medicine.
She became DG at BMRI.

After retirement, he moved to USA.
He stays active by guiding high school students for their SAT tests.

Dr. Mya Tu (Physiologist) founded Burma Medical Research Institute (BRMI) and served as its Director. Saya passed away at the age of 91 in Australia. Dr. Thein Htut and Dr. Thane Oke Kyaw Myint spoke at the service.
Daw Khin Thet Hta (Jenny) is Saya’s wife. She has a Doctroate in Library Science.
They co-authored “Who’s Who in Health and Medicine in Burma/Myanmar” (Two editions).
There was an attempt to update it, but did not happen.
Dr. Thane Oke Kyaw Myint e-mailed me a soft copy of “Who’s Who in Heath and Medicine (in Burma/Myanmar)” (Second edition). He referred to the work as Magnum Opus.

Dr. Paing Soe Was admitted as Roll Number (2) to MC in 1965. He had the same marks as Dr. Yi Thway, who was admitted as Roll Numbe (1). Retired as Deputy Minister of Health.
He founded BMRI (Burma Medical Research Institute) and served as its inaugural Director. BMRI was later known as DMR (Directorate of Medical Research).
His successors include Dr. Aung Than Ba Tu, Dr. U Khin Maung Tun, and Dr. Daw May May Yee.

Dr. U Khin Maung Tin served as Medical Superintendent of the RU (Rangoon University) Hospital.
Dr. Daw May May Yee served as Professor of Physiology at IM(2). She was a Staff Member at the Inlay Khaung Daing Luyechun Camp in the Summer of 1965.
Dr. Nyunt Wai posted a photo of the then young Medical Researchers.
Dr. Thein Toe (GBNF), Dr. Khin Kyi Nyunt (GBNF), Dr. Khin Maung U (SPHS63), Dr. Paing Soe (SPHS65), Dr. Kyaw Min (SPHS65) are some alumni of BMRI/DMR.
He matriculated from SPHS in 1960. He missed the top five positions by a mark each. The Brothers were disappointed even though SPHS won many Collegiate Scholarship awards.
He graduated from IM(1) in 1967.
He worked for Rangoon Children’s Hospital and UNICEF in Rangoon before taking UN assignments overseas.
He is retired in Australia.
He is a founder of the Alumni of the Myanmar Institute of Medicine. He has written about the sayas and sayamas.
He has also written about his father U Kyaw Myint, his Bagyi U Tin Tut and his Ba Dwes U Myint Thein and Dr. Htin Aung.
Ma Cherry (Dr. Khin Kyi Nyunt) is an expert in nutrition and cooking.

He complained to his grand mother and his aunt (Ma Cho) that his younger sister Aye Aye Khin would call him “Peter” and not “Ko Ko”. It took some time before Aye Aye learned to call Peter “Ko Ko”.

Peter would have some younger cousins including Tin Tin Hlaing and Thar Hlaing.
In 1981, Cho Cho Hlaing studied for Diploma in German. A requirement was to submit a thesis. She chose to describe “The cultural background of preparing and serving of Burmese Food“.
The thesis comprised of 8 chapters. The first chapter described Dana, such as offering (Soon Laung De) to a row of Sanghas (monks), and Soon Kyway at home.
For each chapter Peter (Khin Tun) did a wonderful drawing. There were altogether ten drawings which clearly express the text, “A Picture is Worth A Thoughtful Words”.
Cho Cho Hlaing gained Credit in the Final Exam.
The Professor was very impressed with Peter’s drawings.
