Kekule was searching for the structure of Benzene.
He supposedly had a dream where a snake’s head tried to bite its tail. It was an “Aha” moment for him. He figured out the bonding of the Carbon and Hydrogen molecules.
Some use this example as the power of the subconscious mind in solving problems.

The structure of benzene is indeed a significant discovery in the history of science.
During one my of visits, I hosted a Breakfast Gathering at Taw Win Hnin Si.
Ko Win Maung provided the ride.
At the time, Uzin Aung Chaw (C69) was visiting Yangon. He became a monk after retirement and spent several vassa (Rainy Season Retreat) in Sagaing Hills. A few years back, Uzin moved to the Irrawaddy Delta region.
Ko Win Thein Zaw (Wai Lu, Min69) took Optional Burmese in High School. He was an MP in the Pyithu Hluttaw in charge of Mining and related areas. He surprised us at the gathering.
Ko Shwe, Ko Sein Myint, Ko Myat Soe Lwin, Ko Kyi Win, Ko Win Maung and Ko Myint Maung were my EE classmates.
Ko Shwe was a Treasurer of the 69er HCF and the EE 69er HCF.
Ko Sein Myint is a major donor to both funds. He and Ko Win Maung represented RIT in Swimming, Water Polo and Rowing.
Ko Myint Maung played Volleyball for RIT EE along with Saw Edison, Ko Maung Maung and Ko Aye Thein.
Ko Kyi Win taught selected subjects for seafarers.
He represented the University of Rangoon in Rowing and Soccer.
RUBC
U Chan Tha is Past Captain and Gold of RUBC (Rangoon University Boat Club).
In the 50s, thanks to sponsors and donors, RUBC had a brand new fleet (mostly imported from the UK) to complement the old fleet and training boats.
The Prime Minister of the Union of Burma provided the Prime Minister’s Challenge Cup for Inter-Club Coxed Fours. The Inaugural Prime Minister’s Cup was contested by RUBC (Rangoon University Boat Club), CLC (Calcutta Lake Club) and CURC (Calcutta University Rowing Club. In the early days, the Prime Minister also serve as the Chancellor (Adipati) of the University of Rangoon. The Prime Minister attended Convocations and gave Key note speeches. The Prime Minister also attended RUBC Regattas and presented the Prime Minister’s Challenge Cup.
The President of the Union Burma provided the President’s Challenge Cup for Inter-Club Coxed Eights. The Inaugural President’s Cup was contested by RUBC and the Combined CLC-CURC teams.
His eldest son Zaw Zaw Minn provided photos to selected Old Crocs including U Tin Htoon (A60, Past Captain and Gold of RUBC, ARAE Champion).
Soccer
He was Captain of the Prome Hall Soccer team, which won Inter-Hall Trophy for two years in a row.
He represented Rangoon University and SAMB in soccer.
