Dr. Thane Oke Kyaw Myint (SPHS 60, IM1 67) mailed me a copy of the book “Tribute to Dr. Thane Oke Kyaw Myint : The Journey of a Peripatetic Paediatrician”. Thanks.
There are almost a hundred articles covering 600 pages.
Received a copy of the Centennial Celebration of “Nga Kyan Pyan (Dawei) Sasana Yeiktha”.
It contains my article on the importance of time.

Received an autobiography of Saya U Khin Zaw (“K”) sent by Ko Wint Khin Zaw (A 79).
It was originally titled “Burma in my Life-time”, but had to be renamed “Myanmar in my Life-time” for the reprint.

She passed away peacefully in Sydney, Australia.
Spouse : Saya Dr. Freddie Ba Hli (GBNF)
Fourth of nine siblings : Saya U Tin U (C), Saya U Ba Than (M, GBNF), Dr. Daw Win Hlaing (Ruby), Dr. Myo Tint (GBNF), U Tin Htoon (A60), Saya U Myo Min (UCC), U Thaung Lwin (EC66), Daw Cho Cho Hlaing
Children : Ma Tin Tin Hlaing (UCC) & Ko Htay Aung (EC80, UCC), Ko Tha Hlaing (EC83, UCC), Min Thet Tun (GBNF)
According to Saya U Moe Aung (EE 63, Tekkatho Moe War), the term “Swel Daw Yeik” was first accepted as a synonym for RIT in 1970 (Golden Jubilee of the establishment of Rangoon University). Saya is an outstanding writer/poet, editor/publisher, “Ah Nu Pyinnyar Shin”, …
It is a premier feature of the RIT-related gatherings (e.g. Singapore Thingyan, World wide SPZPs).
It was issued for SPZP-2002, SPZP-2007, and SPZP-2010 held in Singapore.
Tekkatho Moe War (Saya U Moe Aung) served as Chief Editor of the SDY Sar Saungs.
My poem “SAYA PU ZAW PWE” was reprinted as Back Cover of the SDY Sar Saung for SPZP-2002.
My poem “SWE DAW YEIK” was published in the SDY Sar Saung for SPZP-2007.
My article “A Short and Sad Clip : EE Sayas” was published in the SDY Sar Saung for SPZP-2010.
It was issued for SPZP-2012, Shwe YaDu 2014 and SPZP-2016.
It evolved from brain storming sessions for helping past, present, and future Burmese/Myanmar engineers.
The initial scope was to provide (some) health care to eligible sayas and sayamas (60+ years, 7+ years of service) using only the interest money of the Health Care Fund.
The balance of “Steeve and Helen Kay Health Care Fund for RIT Sayas” was transferred to SDYF.
U Khin Maung Tun is a Big Donor to SDYF. He also served as President and hosted lunch meetings.
Some alumni groups (e.g Swel Daw Thway) have provided funds to supplement (e.g. K50,000 per saya/sayama) the dana offering by SDYF.
“Swel Daw Yeik Bulletin” was published by Saya U Moe Aung and team.

RIT stands not only for Rangoon Institute of Technology, but all preceding and succeeding Engineering Schools in Burma / Myanmar
…

I attended PPBRS (Private Primary Boundary Road School) located at 109 Boundary Road (now known as Dhamma Zedi), Rangoon. After passing Third Standard, I moved to Sr. Paul’s High School.
PPBRS was founded by Daw Tin Tin Aye, elder sister of Daw Yi and Daw Khin Khin Aye.
Daw Khin Khin Aye (Teacher Ah Mar) succeeded Daw Tin Tin Aye as Principal. She later added classes for Middle School and High School and renamed the school as PBRS (Private Boundary Road School).
PPBRS has a Boy Scouts Troupe with Ko Bo Ni (Min Kyaw Min) as the Scout Master.
There is P.B.R.S. Group in Facebook. It is a private group with Aye Maung Thann as Admin.

Ko Myint Sein (Bobby) made his name as Principal of BARB (Burma Astro Research Bureau) and later as Founder of Idea Astrology.
He attended PPBRS. He matriculated from SPHS (St. Paul’s High School). He studied B.Com at IE (Institute of Economics).
He had some business, but his passion was to study and teach Medical Astrology. Several medical doctors studied astrology with his guidance. Some asked for his second opinion about serious medical cases.
Many years ago, Myint Sein asked if I could help do Veda computations on calculators and computers. And also teach his assistants and senior students at BARB. Under my supervision, Win Latt wrote Win Horo to prepare Zartar (Natal Horoscope). Zaw Tun wrote a program to perform basic analysis of the Zartar.
A few years back, I visited Myint Sein at his house. He was consulting close friends at home. He had prepared a book on Medical Astrology and taught at the School of Indigenous Medicine as a Visiting Professor.
Sadly, he passed away.
His elder brother U Myint Kyi and his younger sister had passed away earlier.
According to Myint Sein’s son, who was back in Yangon to prepare and take his examination for Master Mariner, Myint Sein seemed to have no serious medical problems. He passed out after watching TV.
Ko Myint Swe (Monty) added that Myint Sein had brunch at Okkalapa before he headed home.
I was dressed up as a sailor.
We sang, “When I was a sailor …”.
I do not remember what others wore or sang.
Aye Aye Myint wrote :
When I was a sailor boy …when I was a sailor boy …..when I was a sailor boy…..sailing on the sea ..
Khin Maung Oo wrote :
I remember Tin Maung Thant (son of UNSG U Thant) as husband of Winnie Cho (daughter of Teacher Cho) in one concert.
