• Warned a family friend of a fatal accident
• The friend replied that he survived a car accident and had scars of his face.
  He was going back to Dawei on his father’s schooner, and upon his return to Rangoon would become a temporary monk.
• Sad to note that he tried to help the crew mates after the schooner sank, probably got exhausted and “lost his grip” before the rescue ship came.

• A fellow shopper recounted a “bad” reading by a palmist
• The palmist interpreted the square on the Line of Fate as good fortune.
• The shopper ended up in a jail cell.

• Needed several grafts for the foot injury while riding at the “end” of the bus (which was “rammed” by a car following it)

• One book was a prescribed text in Burma in the early days.
  
• Lectured to the first year students at LSE (London School of Economics) instead of delegating to his assistants. His rationale : “A major subject can be taught by any qualified teacher, but a minor subject should be introduced by a motivated, senior teacher. The class could be the sole exposure in their academic career; so it is important to give the students an excellent overview of the subject.”

• I worked as a volunteer assistant for Saya U Hla Tun Aung, who was in charge of the “Zay Nay Yar Cha Htar Yee Committee” for the Rangoon University Golden Jubilee Celebrations in 1970. Among those who applied for permits include U Maung Maung Tar (Academy winning actor, trying to sell his line of make up) and the Playboys (Than Naing, Thein Tan).
  Saya proposed new course requiring statistical analysis.

• Saya Dr. U Win attended UCC courses before going for his graduate studies in the US.
  Collaboration with sayas from the Institute of Economics.
  Doctorate in Water Resource Management
  He later specialized in Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
  He was the last speaker for the conferences held by Burma Research Society (BRS). The higher authorities entered the room and announced that “BRS would be dismantled the following day”.

• Time management is partly based on the fact that everyone — rich or poor — has 24 hours a day. Most people spend 8 hours a day for sleep. There are a few who sleep less (e.g. 4 hours) and live long and healthy. There are others who suffer (e.g. accidents in traffic and work) due to insufficient sleep.
• Some provide 24 x 7 service. (7 days a week)
• It is difficult if impossible to provide 24 x 365 service. (365 days for a common year).
• World Cup had 16 finalists before it was expanded to 24 teams and beyond.
