Metallurgy Trio

Update : December 13, 2022

At the 2015 Los Angeles Alumni Reunion, there was a micro-gathering of three sayas (Met71, Met72 and Met73) from the Metallurgy Department. A preferred name for Metallurgy is “Material Science”.

Ko Win Kyaw (Met71) was a member at RUBC. His crew mates were Ko Khin Maung Myint (M71), Ko Myint Than (M71), Ko Myint Swe (Min71) and Ko Sein Myint (EP69, cox). After teaching at RIT, he worked abroad. He was surprised when he could not get his pay check. The reason was that the organization could not differentiate between “Win Kyaw” and “Kyaw Win” (who blacklisted).

Ko Thein Aung (James, Met72) was Mr. RIT (Set Hmu Maung). One of his e-mails use “Mr RIT68”. There was another Ko Thein Aung (M72), who would say :

“I am Set Hmu — Maung Thein Aung.

He is Set Hmu Maung — Thein Aung.”

Ko Thein Aung served as co-emcee at SPZP-2000. He volunteered as Associate Editor for the commemorative issue of “RIT Alumni International Newsletter”. He took care of the Burmese section, and also compiled the biographies of the sayas attending SPZP-2000.

Ko Nyunt Htay (Met73) is an RIT Ah Nu Pyinnya Shin. He joined Saya U Moe Aung, Saya Ko Aung Myaing, Ko Toee Maung and Ko Win Myint to publish “Swel Daw” related Kabyars.

He is Chief Editor and/or Published of Myanmar Mudita.

The three sayas and Ko Thiri Nyunt (musician) attended the gathering at iNapa Winery to welcome Sayagyi Dr. Aung Gyi.

Ko Nyunt Htay wrote :

Ko Win Kyaw wrote :
