  • Most members matriculated in 1962 and graduated with BE in 1968.
  • About 200 students entered the first ever 3rd BE class at RIT (Rangoon Institute of Technology) in November 1964.
  • Earlier, it was called the First Year of Engineering (after passing the Intermediate of Science classes)

Saya U Myat Htoo (C68)

  • Joined RIT after passing the last ever I.Sc.(B) examination from Mandalay University.
  • Taught at RIT Civil Engineering Department.
  • Moved to the USA
  • Worked mainly for CalTrans (California Transportation) until retirement.
  • Founding member, RIT Alumni International
  • Member of Organizing Committee for SPZP-2000 & Co-Emcee
  • Founding member and Chair of BOD, Norcal RITAA
  • Past President, TBSA (Theravada Buddhist Society of America)
  • Past President, BADA (Burmese American Democratic Alliance)

  • Known as “Maung Kabar”.

  • Had some memory loss.

Daw Nyunt Nyunt Zaw (T68, GBNF)

  • Nickname : Double Size
  • Spouse : Victor Ohn Maung (Guitarist, mentor of young musicians)
  • Brother : Ricky Zaw (Steel Guitarist, Vocalist)

U Tun Aung (Jeffrey, EC68, GBNF)

  • Proposed the name BASES
  • Served as [Vice] President
  • When the interviewers learned that U Tun Aung was a former student of Saya U Chin Way (EE, SPARK), they ended the interview and proceeded to offer Saya a job.
  • Spouse : Daw Thuzar, former Movie Star.
  • Passed away in 2021

  • Helped alumni visiting or migrating to Los Angeles
  • Before and after retirement, he offered his expertise to several monasteries

  • Saya U Myo Myint would say, “Sai Yee Laik was the first and last in A68”.

  • Burma selected in soccer
  • After retirement, volunteered in Burma Soccer Federation.
