
Saya U Htin Paw (EE58, GBNF) won two Gold Medals. Since the Endowment could not cover the rising cost of Gold, Saya’s family had to contribute K300 for the Gold Medals. Saya studied for his Masters at the University of Michigan (under the UBARI scholarship). Upon his return, he taught part time at the EE Department while working for UBARI and then the Electrical Inspectorate. Saya migrated to USA. He served as President of TBSA (Theravada Buddhist Society of America) and BEA (Burmese Engineers Association). He is the brother of U Tun Thein (A67) and uncle of U Hla Thein (Robert, M72).
Saya U Ba Nyunt (EE58) did further studies in the USA. Saya transferred to BOC/MOC. He visited his daughter and grand child in California in 2000.
Both attended SPZP-2000 and had a Class of 58 mini-reunion with Saya Allen Htay (C58, GBNF), Saya Dr. San Hla Aung (C58) and Mr. Oscar Shazaree (C58).
