Saya was born on October 2, 1920.
He celebrates his birthdays with meritorious deeds.
Before the pandemic, he offered soon to the monks at Tipitaka Yaw Sayadaw and invited his colleagues, relatives, former students ad friends.
He also donated the Garawa money that he had received from the SPZPs to charities (Jivitadana, Little Sisters for the Poor, Mary Chapman’s school for Deaf & Dumb, …).

- His brother U Tin Htoon (A60) compiled a Photo Album for his 90th birthday.
- He is currently the oldest among the RIT sayas who are alive.
