The collection was hailed as the best short stories at the time, but it was not awarded the national prize. - The national prize for short stories was awarded the next year in 1975!

Brief Bio
- Awarded scholarship for performing well in the 7th Standard Government Examination.
- Accepted to attend the Pre-Medical program (initiated by Colonel Min Sein).
- Top among the Pre-Medical Matriculates in 1955.
Passed with First Division (with Physics Distinction) - Attended I.Sc.(B) class at Rangoon University.
Exempted from attending I.Sc.(A) - Since a Medical Branch was opened in Mandalay, students from Upper Burma were assigned to attend 2nd MB (and higher) classes there.
- Attended the Final year classes at the Faculty of Medicine, Rangoon University.
- Graduated along with 25 (or so) students in 1961.
- Took Army Stipend (to relieve the financial load of his parents) while studying for his medical degree.
- Upon graduation, joined the army.
- Stationed at Base Military Hospitals and Field Units (e.g. in Shan State).
- Pursued further studies in the UK
- Received a Doctorate from UK in 1969.
- Retired as Major.
- Served as Professor of Anatomy at the Institute of Medicine.
- Did a Masters from US.
- Later taught at in Malaysia.
- Bilingual author (in Burmese and English)
- Wrote short stories, poems and technical articles
- Won National Literary Awards.
- Won “Lifetime Achievement Award (for Literature)”.

- The Panglong Conference took place in February 1947.
- The signatories include Bogyoke Aung San and representatives of Burmese, Shan, Kachin, Chin …
