- Burma was host of SEAP Games for the second time.
- Myint Aung won six Gold medals in Gymnastics.
- Jimmy Crampton won Gold in 800 m and 1500 m.
- Shimbwegan succeeded Mee Tung Naw as the Marathon Champion
- Htay Aung (M69) represented Burma in Water Polo.
