F Ba Hli, Dr.

• Dr. Freddie Ba Hli (GBNF) received his Sc.D. in EE from MIT
• Served as Director General of UBARI (Union of Burma Applied Research Institute).
• Retired as Advisor at the Ministry of National Planning.
• Member of the UCC Advisory Board and an external examiner at UCC.
  
• Father : Saya U Ba Hli was the first native Dean of Engineering.
  Credited for proposing “Twinning Program” with prestigious US Universities.
• Spouse : Daw Myint Thwe (sister of Saya U Ba Than, U Tin Htoon, U Thaung Lwin …)
• Daughter : Tin Tin Hlaing studied and worked at UCC
• Son : Tha Hlaing stood Joint First with Ko Thaung Tin in EC83.
• Younger son : Min Thet Tun passed away in his mid-30s.

Foreign Dignitaries

• Several foreign leaders visited Burma.
