  • Past Captain and Gold of RUBC (Rangoon University Boat Club).
  • BSCE from Oregon State University and MSCE from Yale University.
  • Upon his return, he taught part-time at the Civil Engineering Department.
  • Past Captain of RGC (Rangoon Golf Club).

Saya U Sein Hlaing (EE52, GBNF)

EE Sayas
  • Joined the EE Department after graduation.
  • MSEE from MIT.
  • Retired as Professor and Head of the Electrical Engineering Department.

  • Collegiate Scholarship in the Matriculation of 1947
  • Gold Medalist for highest marks in Intermediate examinations in 1949
  • BS and MS from Imperial College
  • Retired as Professor of Mechanical Engineering

U Chan Tha

Prome Hall Football Team
  • Past Captain and Gold of RUBC.
  • Led the Prome Hall soccer team to victory in the Inter-Hall tournament for two consecutive years.
  • Selection for Rangoon University and Burma soccer teams.

Saya U Tin Swe (EE53, GBNF)

  • Member of the Prome Hall soccer team which won the Inter-Hall tournament for two consecutive years.
  • Played good tennis.
  • Joined the EE Department after graduation.
  • MSEE from University of Michigan.
  • Power user at UCC. He and his former students Dr. San Oo (EP67) and U Aung Kyaw Pe (EP69) developed and ran programs related to power systems.

U Aw Taik Moh (C54)

  • Wrote “BOC College Graduate”.
  • Credits Dean U Ba Hli for the “Twinning Project” with prestigious US universities.
  • MS from MIT.
  • Lives in Southern California.
  • Attended SPZP-2000

Class of 55

Dr. Aung Gyi, U Min Wun and U Maung Maung Than (GBNF) were among the first engineering students sent to US as State Scholars under the “Twinning Project” proposed by Sayagyi U Ba Hli.

  • Hobbies include Chinlon and Music

  • Seventh in Burma in the Matriculation exam of 1949
  • BS and MS from MIT
  • Retired as Rector
  • Taught at Rengsit University in Bangkok
  • Speaker at SPZP-2000
