  • Saya U Tin Maung Nyunt (M60) and I used to exchange books (dhamma and general).

  • He received some books when his dhamma friend Saya U Soe Kaw (Mining) passed away.
  • He received some books when a Myanmar monastery undergoing renovation gave away the old stuff.
  • Saya books by Ludu Dawlove Ah Mar, Theikpan Maung Wa, Tha Ka Doe, and Kyemon U Thaung (to name a few).

Book by Ludu Daw Ah Mar

  • Daw Ah Mar (Amar) took part in the 1936 RU Student Strike.
  • Spouse : Ludu U Hla (distinguished writer and journalist)
  • Many journalists and writers worked at Ludu Newspaper founded by U Hla and Daw Amar (Ah Mar).
  • Saya U Tin Maung Nyunt gave me the book written by Ludu Daw Ah Mar about notable people from Mandalay.
  • Daw Oo Zun (founder of the first Lu Oh Yone) and Kyar Ba Nyein (Boxing and Checkers) are some of the Mandalay Thu and Mandalay Thar featured in the book.

Book by Theikpan Maung Wa

  • ICS U Sein Tin (Theikpan Maung Wa) was an early student who took Burmese Honors.
  • He co-founded “Khit San Sar Pay” with U Thein Han (Zawgyi) and U Wun (Minthuwun).
  • He wrote a journal during his study at Oxford University and published a book.
  • He wrote semi-autobiographical accounts featuring the characters Maung Lu Aye and Maung Lu Hmwe.
  • His collection of “Wut Htu Saung Par” was prescribed as a Burmese text for high school.
  • Saya U Tin Maung Nyunt gave me the book written a book by Theikpan Maung Wa about pets.
  • Theikpan Maung Wa succumbed as a victim of a robbery (gone wrong).

  • U Thaung Sein (Steeve Kay) graduated among the Top of the Electrical Communications (EC) from Rangoon Institute of Technology in 1970.
  • He completed his MSEE from Stanford University.
  • He had a successful first career as an IC Designer.
  • He received an MBA from Pepperdine University.
  • Per request from his younger sister, he joined two siblings to found QTC, which became a multi-million enterprise.
  • Dr. Kay (his younger sister) has several patents related to “Disability Claims”.
  • The book “Six Steps to a Dream” was published on the 25th Anniversary of the founding of QTC.
  • The siblings are philanthropists.
  • Steeve founded KFF (Kay Family Foundation).
  • His sister founded B K Kee Foundation.
  • Steeve Kay never forgot his roots, his alma mater and his mentors.
  • He and his foundation donated $200,000+ for RIT-related activities.
  • He is a Multiple Golden Sponsor of SPZPs starting with SPZP-2000.
  • He established the “Steeve and Helen Kay Health Care Fund for RIT Sayas and Sayamas”.
    The balance of the fund was transferred to Swel Daw Yeik Foundation.
  • He and his foundation matched $30,000 for the “RIT Alumni Gathering in Los Angeles in 2015“.
