1946

  • Rangoon University was closed for three years
  • Reopened in 1946.
  • Saya U Tin U (Dio, C) attended Rangoon University in 1946 along with Dr. Pe Nyun (Dick San Pe), and Dr. Pe Thein (Tom San Pe)
    They represented RUBC in the 1948 Independence Regatta at Kandawgyi and became Gold
    U Tin U is the most senior Past Captain alive
  • Saya U Sein Hlaing (EE) attended Rangoon University in 1946
    Joined Faculty of Engineering as Assistant Lecturer in 1952
    MS from MIT
    Upon his return to Burma, he was promoted to Lecturer
    Retired as Professor and Head of Electrical Engineering
    He is GBNF

1947

    Won Gold Medal for scoring the highest marks among the Science students and overall in the Intermediate examination in 1949

    Changed his name to include his mother
