Saya U Po Tha is an early native Professor of Chemistry. He served as an Interim Dean at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Rangoon. He is an uncle of Saya U Aung Khin (Retired Professor of Mechanical Engineering).
Saya U Aung Khin (Professor) and his cousin Saya U Khin Maung Myint are some of the senior sayas.
I met Saya Dr. Ko Ko Gyi (Professor) at some of the meetings that I attended as an assistant or a representation of my sayas.
Dr. Mehm Thet San was a room mate of Saya Dr. Yan Naing Lwin (Physics, WIU) at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC) in the mid-50s. Saya served as Principal, DG and Deputy Minister.
Dr. Mehm Tin Mon wrote several books including Abhidhamma (in Burmese and English). He taught condensed classes for Thingyo examination. His daughter is Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering at YTU.
Dr. Soe Win stood First in Burma in the Matriculation examination in 1958. Saya served as Principal, Administrator and Rector.

U Ye Myint who played soccer and badminton was Lu Ye Chun for 2nd year in the summer of 1965.
U Maung Maung Kyi (SPHS63) scored the highest marks in Chemistry in the first ever High School Final Only examination in 1962. He stood 11th in Burma in Matriculation examination in 1963 and was awarded Collegiate Scholarship. He gained distinctions in Chemistry in the first ever Matriculation only examination and the last I.Sc.(A) examination. When the schools were closed, he applied for a scholarship to study Chemical Engineering (with specialty in Pulp and Paper) in Germany.
