Saya U Aung Hla is an early native Professor of Mathematics at the University of Rangoon. He wrote musical notes for Burmese songs. His spouse Daw May Than is a distinguished vocalist. His son U Mya Than played the Lead Guitar on several bands.
Saya U Kar is the father of Dr. Thein Maung (EENT) and Dr. Tin Maung (UCC, DCS, ICST). He was a senior lecturer. He served as Minister of Education in the Caretaker Government and later as Rector of the University of Rangoon.
Saya U Ba Toke studied at Mandalay University and Harvard University. He joined the faculty at the University of Rangoon, and taught Mathematics to Science and Engineering students. He served as Professor of Mathematics at RASU and Rector at MASU. He voluntarily requested transfer to RIT as Professor of Mathematics. He was Camp Commander of a Lu Ye Camp, a member of the RU Sports Council, and leader of the Burma Olympic Team. His life journey is recorded in the book by Maung Thin Char (Dr. Khin Maung Swe).
Saya Dr. Chit Swe studied at Mandalay University, University of London and University of Liverpool. He founded Universities’ Computer Center (UCC) with the help of Saya U Soe Paing, Saya U Myo Min and Saya U Ko Ko Lay (GBNF). During the planning stage, the volunteers of the UCC project had to use some rooms at the Department of Mathematics in RASU, and conducted orientation and training courses at Mandalay Hall.
Dr. Chit Swe allowed me to work on several of his projects : High School Mathematics, Children’s Treasury of Knowledge (CTK) and Team of System Specialists (TOSS).

U Net (grand father of U Wunna Ko Ko) and Dr. Ba Kyi are some of the senior sayas from Mandalay University.
U Ba Min (SPHS56) studied his Masters at the University of California at Berkeley. He taught Mathematics and Astronomy. Due to medical reasons, he resigned when he was transferred to Myitkyina College. He opened a shop in Mandalay Zay Cho. One day, some Japanese students visited their shop. They were surprised that U Ba Min was a classmate of their professor. They took photos to show them to their professor.
Saya Dr. Khin Maung Swe and Saya U Soe Naing were Editors and/or Publishers of the Thin Char Sar Saung.
Sayama Daw Myint Myint Khaing is the daughter of Arzani Mahn Ba Khaing.
Dr. Min Oo (SPHS63) stood second in the Matriculation examination in 1963. He was Lu Ye Chun, and later a Staff saya at a Lu Ye Chun Camp. He received two doctorates in Mathematics from Germany, and taught in Canada and/or USA.
Dr. Zaw Win (from Nyaung Oo) stood second in the Matriculation examination in the early 70s. He received his doctorate from Germany.
Dr. Sein Win is the son of Arzani U Ba Win and the nephew of Bogyoke Aung San. He received his doctorate from Germany.
Dr. Tin Maung, Dr. Kyaw Thein and Dr. Pyke Tin served as Rector of ICST.
U Aung Zaw transferred to UCC as Systems Programmer. He studied for his Masters at the University of Southampton in the UK, and later had training at the University of California at Santa Cruz. He taught at UCC before moving to CSO. He later taught at Assumption University in Bangkok and in Sydney, Australia.
