Chinese Names

Stan Liou (M67) said that my earlier post on Chinese Names is only partially correct.

I wrote that Chinese siblings share the first part and second part of their names and vary only in the third part.

Fixed (1st part) Fixed (2nd part) Vary (3rd part)

Stan said that siblings (mostly from the Northern Part of China) share the first part and third part of their names and vary only in the second part.

Fixed (1st part) Vary (2nd part) Fixed (3rd part)

Most Chinese use the Clan Name for the first part. In the Western world, it is often referred to as the Surname or the Last Name.

Of the two remaining parts, one part is usually used for the Family Name and the remaining one is for the Personal Name.
