Class of 52

They attended Rangoon University when it reopened in 1946.

U Tin U (C)

U Tin U in 1949
  • He is Past Captain and Gold of RUBC (Rangoon University Boat Club).
  • He went to US to study his BSCE at Oregon State University and MSCE at Yale University.
  • Upon his return, he taught part-time at the Civil Engineering Department.
  • He is Past Captain of RGC (Rangoon Golf Club).

Saya U Sein Hlaing (EE52)

EE Sayas
  • He joined the EE Department after graduation.
  • He studied MSEE at MIT.
  • He retired as Professor and Head of the Electrical Engineering Department.
  • He is GBNF

Class of 53

U Chan Tha

Prome Hall Football Team
  • He is Past Captain and Gold of RUBC.
  • He led the Prome Hall soccer team to victory in the Inter-Hall tournament for three consecutive years.
  • He is also a selection for Rangoon University and Burma soccer teams.

EE53

Saya U Tin Swe (EE53)

  • He was a member of the Prome Hall soccer team which won the Inter-Hall tournament for three consecutive years.
  • He also played good tennis.
  • He joined the EE Department after graduation.
  • Saya studied MSEE at the University of Michigan.
  • He was a power user at UCC. He and his former students Dr. San Oo and U Aung Kyaw Pe developed and ran programs related to power systems.
  • He is GBNF.

Class of 54

C54

U Aw Taik Moh (C54)

  • He wrote “BOC College Graduate”. He credits Sayagyi U Ba Hli, first native Dean of Engineering for the “Twinning Project” with prestigious US universities.
  • He studied MS at MIT.
  • He lives in Southern California.

Class of 55

Dr. Aung Gyi, U Min Wun and U Maung Maung Than (GBNF) were among the first engineering students sent to US as State Scholars under the “Twinning Project” proposed by Sayagyi U Ba Hli.

  • He received his BSCE and MSCE from MIT, and his doctorate from the University of Alberta.
  • He succeeded U Yone Moe as Rector.

Saya U Min Wun (C)

Saya U Min Wun and Saya DAG in 2000
  • He received his BSCE from MIT and his MSCE from Cornell University.
  • He retired as Professor and Head of Civil Engineering Department.
  • He served as Advisor for the Myanmar Pyet Ka Dein Committee.

Saya U Maung Maung Than (T)

  • He received his BS and MS from Clemson University.
  • He retired as Rector.
  • He served as Chairman of the RIT Sports Council.
  • His hobbies include Chinlon and Music.
  • He is GBNF.
