Many years ago, I asked a journalist how he could write weekly columns. He replied, “As long as you have family, friends and colleagues, you can find some thing to write even daily.”
“How do you find time to write?”
“Do you have lots of files?”
“How can you remember names of people, places and events?”
I love writing
I have been writing for four or more decades, but my spouse and some sayas suggested that I should share my knowledge and experience with others while my physical and mental health are reasonably good.
I enjoy stories
I heard stories from my father, my teachers, and even my barber and the taxi drivers. I love history and encyclopedias. I volunteered as a Docent for the Computer History Museum. I contributed nine articles for the Encyclopedia of Asian American Folklore and Folklife published by ABC-CLIO.
I hope that my Trivia posts can supplement the history books and encyclopedias.
It will take a lot of time to reorganize the Trivia posts into a book or a collection of books. But, with the help of passionate volunteers, the work and even its extensions can be done in a reasonable amount of time.
Like Jules Verne said, “If one can dream, others can and will fulfill.”
